ITAPG, the trading name of IAN TORRIE ASSOCIATED GENETICS, can trace its history back to the 1960’s, when leading independent pig breeders came together. The foundation stock was based on Large White and Landrace lines aimed, from the outset, at meeting the demands of the meat market. The company’s pure-bred lines are under continuous development to offer a genetic advantage to producers seeking breeding stock for increased on-farm efficiency. The company has won particular acclaim for its lean-meat producing stress-free terminal sires.
